Wolves land another former 'Thibs' player' in Taj Gibson

Atlanta Hawks v Chicago Bulls

The Wolves got their free agent power-forward Sunday morning after landing 32-year-old Taj Gibson. Sunday it was reported Thibs will reunite with yet another former player of his out of Chicago  on a 2 year $28 million deal. Sam Amick of USA Today added that there is no option on the second year of Gibson's deal.

Gibson split time with the Bulls and Thunder after being traded to Oklahoma City during the 2016 season. He averaged 11.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while in Chicago. His production took a slight hit when he went to OKC - 9.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

If Gibson isn't simply handed the starting spot at the four, you can bet he will at least be giving Gorgui Dieng a run for his money.

Tom Thibodeau coached Gibson for 5 years with the Bulls - Jimmy Butler was also a member of those Bulls teams.

In the past week the Timberwolves roster makeover has been extensive: traded for Jimmy Butler, traded Ricky Rubio to Utah, signed Jeff Teague, and now they add Taj Gibson to the mix. Should be fun year of new-look Wolves basketball!
