It's Official: Gov. Walz Implementing Statewide Mask Mandate

The mandate requires the wearing of a mask inside indoor public places as well as businesses

Saturday morning (7/25) at 1am, Minnesota residents must wear a mask, according to a mandate from Governor Walz.

The mandate requires the wearing of a mask inside indoor public places as well as businesses, unless the individual is alone. Also, workers will be required to wear masks if working outside where social distancing ins not possible.

Officials say that the types of face coverings can include a paper or disposable mask, cloth, neck gaiter, scarf, bandana or religious face covering and it must cover the nose and mouth.

Minnesota joins the growing list of states that have implemented face mask mandates. As of today (7/22) Wiscosnis, Iowa and the Dakotas have NOT implemented a mask mandate.
