Paul McCartney's Daughter Mary Set To Direct Abbey Road Studios Documentary

Abbey Road Studios turns 90 this year, and to celebrate the legendary studio is subject of a documentary titled If These Walls Could Sing.

Billed as the untold story of Abbey Road, the film marks the first time the studio has opened its doors to a feature-length doc and will be fittingly directed by Paul McCartney's daughter Mary. (The Beatles recorded 190 of their 210 songs there and famously titled an album after the studio.)

“Some of my earliest memories as a young child come from time spent at Abbey Road,” Mary said in a statement. “I’ve long wanted to tell the story of this historic place and I couldn’t be collaborating with a better team than John [Battsek, producer] and Mercury Studios to make this creative ambition a reality.”

“If these walls could sing. I have lost count how many times I’ve heard that said at Abbey Road Studios over the years," Abbey Road Studios' managing director Isabel Garvey added. "I can’t wait for some of these stories to finally come to life in what will become a timeless documentary.”

A release date for If These Walls Could Sing has yet to be revealed; however, 90th anniversary festivities kick off in November.
