Treasure Island Announce Matchbox 20/Counting Crows Show

Treasure Island Resort and Casino announced today that alternative rock bands Matchbox 20 and the Counting Crows will play an outdoor show at Treasure Island on Saturday, September 16th, 2017.  Below is a copy of the official press release with ticket information.

Red Wing, MN (March 27, 2017) Alternative rock groups, Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows will be featured in an outdoor concert on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

Matchbox 20, as they were known in their early years, is an American pop rock/ alternative rock band from Florida. The group is comprised of front man Rob Thomas (lead vocals), Brian Yale (bass) and Paul Doucette (lead and rhythm guitar).

This year marks the 20th anniversary of their diamond-certified debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You. The album includes the Top 40 singles “Push,” “3 A.M.” “Real World” and “Back 2 Good.”

The group’s second album, Mad Season was a commercial success. The album’s lead single, “Bent” became the band’s first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single, “If You’re Gone” topped at #5 on the Hot 100.

Matchbox Twenty has sold over 30 million records worldwide and earned countless accolades, including five Grammy nominations, four American Music Award nods and the 2004 People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Musical Group.”

Counting Crows, who will join Matchbox Twenty, is an American alternative rock group from California. The group members consist of Adam Duritz (vocals), Jim Bogios (drums), David Bryson (guitar), Charlie Gillingham (keyboards), David Immergluck (guitar), Millard Powers (bass) and Dan Vickery (guitar).

The very successful group has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide after exploding onto the music scene with their multiplatinum album, August and Everything After. In 2013 the group began writing songs for a new album and in 2014 released their seventh album Somewhere Under Wonderland.

Known for creating unique and innovative concerts, the band is consistently ranked as one of the top live bands performing today.

Tickets for this outdoor concert go on sale Friday, March 31 at 10am. Tickets are $62, $72 and $85 each. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
