The National Weather service is warning Minnesota residents to be prepared for “dangerous, record heat” this weekend, with highs expected to break the 100 degree mark especially in west central and southwest Minnesota.
Rochester might even see some records being broken this weekend. The record high for June 10th is 96 degrees set back in 1911. The June 11th record high is 92 degrees set in 2001. National Weather Service in La Crosse is predicting temps close to 96 on Saturday and 98 on Sunday.
Remember parents and pet owners; do not leave small children or their pets in hot cars. Anyone that sees a child left in a hot car should contact 911 immediately. If you have elderly neighbors, be sure to check on them and make sure they are safe.
