Seems like every year around the Minnesota State High School Basket Ball playoffs we see some kind of snow and this year is no exception according to the Weather Channel. They are predicting 1-3 inches with rain turning to snow Friday night into Saturday morning and another 3-5 inches on Saturday for the Rochester area.
So how accurate is this prediction. Well lets look back on previous years and compare.
March 23-24 of 2016 we had a winter storm bring 8-13 inches of snow and some areas received a 1/2 inch of ice.
On March 18th, 2005 the Rochester are received 19.8 inches of snow.
As a matter of fact it goes all the way back to March 30th 1934 where we received 14 inches of snow so I guess it is safe to say, based on past snow storms around this time of year, that YES it is possible we could see 4-8 inches of snow this weekend. let's hope they are wrong.
