Good news for those who like to see mild winters in Minnesota. The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting a Warm and Dry winter for SE Minnesota. We can expect to see above normal temperatures, more rain and less snow thanks to a weak El Niño, which will prevent cold air masses from lingering in the North.
So how accurate is the Old Farmer's Almanac? The Almanac claims an 80 percent accuracy rate even though the long-term predictions are made 18 months in advance. So take it with a grain of salt.
Rochester's annual high temperature is 54.5 degrees and the annual low is 35.8 degrees with an average annual snowfall rate of 53 inches.
