Bill Cosby Sentenced To Three To Ten Years In Jail

Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby has been sentenced to no less than three years and no more than ten years in jail following his conviction on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004. The judge said that Cosby will face total confinement during his time behind bars.

Prior to receiving his sentence, the judge ruled that Cosby is a "sexually violent predator." While that classification did not impact the length of his prison sentence, the 81-year-old will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, attend sex offender counseling and when he gets out of prison, will be required to notify residents that he is moving to the area.

Cosby did not address the court prior to hearing the length of his sentence. Andrea Constand submitted a victim impact statement to the court, which was not read out loud but she did address the court on Monday.

"I have testified, I have given you my victim impact statement. You heard me, the jury heard me and Mr. Cosby heard me. All I'm asking for is justice as the court sees fit."
