Vikings CB Sherels and Saints punter Morstead Team up for Charity

One of the greatest games last year was when the Vikings played the Saints and wound up winning the game with the Minneapolis Miracle pass.  Just in case you need to see it again here it is:

I still get goose bumps watching that.  If you remember earlier in the game the Saitns punter, Thomas Morsted wound up hurting his ribs when Marcus Sherels almost gets a TD on a punt return.  Well after the Miracle in Minneapolis throw scores the game winning touchdown for the Vikings with no time on the clock left, the Vikings till needed to attempt an extra point according to the NFL.  Most of the Saints just left for the locker room but banged and bruised up Morsted, who is not even on the extra point defense stayed on the field to see the play out.  A true class act.

Vikings fans acknowledged his sportmans ship by donating over $200,000.00 to his charity.  Morsted was so moved by the Vikings fans that he flew to Minneapolis and presented a check to the Children's Minnesota Child Life Program.

Well Rochester Native Marcus Sherels and Saints Punter Thomas Morsted are teaming up for charity ahead of this years game:   "Ahead of this week’s match-up between the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings, Saints punter Thomas Morstead and his foundation, What You Give Will Grow, are teaming up with, Vikings cornerback, Marcus Sherels to raise funds to support Best Christmas Ever© families in Minnesota and the Greater New Orleans area. Best Christmas Ever© is a non-profit organization that works with community partners to lift up families who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own by giving them a Best Christmas Ever.

Following this weekend’s match-up, the winning team’s market will receive 60-percent of all donations to its respective market, while 40-percent will go to the remaining area."
