The National Weather Service in La Crosse is predicting 4-6 inches of new snow Sunday Night into Monday for the Rochester Area.
The most troubling report is from someone that is the best at what he does in our area. Chris Kuball with ABC6 News is alerting people in our area of a potential cold front that could be the worst we have seen in decades.
Chris says: "Shown here is air temperature (colors) a few thousand feet above the surface in Celsius. That's -39°C over top of us... (Roughly the same on the Fahrenheit scale)
This is quite literally the air mass that would normally sit over the North Pole.
If this were to happen exactly as it is being depicted we would be talking about air temps somewhere in the -30s and wind chills in the -60s. However, I'm staying more conservative than those marks in the going forecast as of now. Hard to trend that much to the extreme six days out."
