Earlier in the day on Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings announced that they had signed their 2019 first round draft pick center Garrett Bradbury to a rookie deal.
This was interesting because we had learned weeks ago that the Vikings didn't have enough money in cap space to make this signing, so what gives? We had heard on Friday that contract re-negotiations with tight end Kyle Rudolph had come to a stand still.
So here's the rub.
According to multiple sources on Tuesday afternoon the Vikings actually restructured the contract of linebacker Eric Kendricks in order to free up the necessary funds to pay the rookie.
Specifics have not yet been released but this usually means there is a reallocation of funds from this year to future years with a little more guaranteed money in the long run.
