MN Wild Fall in Overtime to Predators

St. Paul, Minnesota – The Nashville Predators snapped the Minnesota Wild’s five game winning streak with a 3-2 shootout victory at the Excel Energy Center Sunday night.

After playing their last five games on the road, the Wild returned home on short rest and it showed as Minnesota started a little slow. Thankfully it got stronger as the game went on.

“I thought we played a pretty well.” Wild Forward Jason Zucker. “We had a slow start, and we got into it a bit late.”

“They have a lot of heart, they want to win.” Wild Head Coach Bruce Boudreau. “They don’t want to be thought of as the team that didn’t make it. They are giving it everything they have. We had guys who played huge minutes last night, and tonight.”

Predators forward Nick Bonino scored the only goal of the first period for a 1-0 lead.

The Wild got things going late in the second as Eric Fehr and Jason Zucker both tallied to give MN a 2-1 lead going into the 3rd.

Filip Forsberg would tie the game late in the 3rd to force overtime.

In the shoot out, Ryan Ellis and Zach Parise traded shoot out goals early, but Ryan Johansen scored in the 4th round for the win.

The Wild and Predators meet again this Tuesday night in a rematch in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena.
